The Amazing Spiderman Analysis

·        The first this you see on this poster is the large image of the symbol from the very famous superhero, Spiderman. This instantly informs the audience what film this is being advertised.

·        When you look more closely you look you begin to see that there is a man at the top of the poster. With the showing of Spiderman underneath. This is clever editing as it informs you that he is Spiderman in this film.

·        Although you are able to see who is Spiderman in the film you can only make out his shadow, this implies in the film there is a sense of mystery and there is something being hidden from us as the audience.

·        The darkness around the whole for the edging of the poster could imply that there is an evil or dark side to the film. Although the while like in the middle revealing the symbol and the male is a white, this is usually there to represent purity like an angel. So this could therefore mean that the character of Spiderman is pure and heroic, like you’d expect a superhero to be. But the black and dark shadowing around the edge does make me wonder as the audience whether that is how things turn out in the film.

·        The titling of the film is at the bottom again, in a white text to contrast and stand out against the dark/black background. But it has been designed to fade at the bottom into the dark/black background as if ‘The Untold Story’ has a dark and evil side to it as well.

·        As the audience it seems to me as if the colours play a key part in this poster as it helps to portray how the character/protagonists is going to be acting throughout the film.

·        Underneath the titling of them you are able to see the date of the releasing of the film in the cinema. But the colouring of the text is a deep and strong red that is able to stand out on the page to inform the audience clearly. The colouring also flows with the superhero himself as the clothing of his suit contains red.

·        In saying this, the black and white upon the poster also is involved in the design of the Spiderman costume. This could therefore mean the colouring has been used for two purposes. It could be to reveal how the character/protagonist is going to act throughout the film. Or it could be to help inform the audience what superhero film it is if the large, well-known symbol of the spider in the middle of the poster didn’t give it away.

·        At the bottom of the poster we as the audience come across the usual information you expect to find when adverting.

·        But a huge difference with this poster compared to others is that it does contain any names of actors featuring in the film and it doesn’t contain the director of the film either. I feel this is because they felt the symbol and the images used upon the page was enough to get an audience in to watch the film. This could also imply the have a confidence with the advertising. As the poster manages to resemble the trailer and the films so well. This is the kind of look I wish to go for as it would look more professional and unique for audiences to be interested in.
